Lighting for the Festival of Lights 2026
For ten evenings, Berlin belongs to light.
In October, the Festival of Lights returns to Berlin. Brandenburg Gate, the TV Tower, Oberbaum Bridge, Berlin Cathedral, the Victory Column: more than 30 locations will be lit. And in between stand office buildings, hotels, showrooms and company headquarters. Most of them stay dark.
Joining in without a place in the official program
The festival runs a curated program. If you want your building to appear in it officially, that is something to arrange directly with the organizers.
The second option is independent of that: you light your own facade on those evenings, on your own terms. Your building, your content – and a city that spends these ten days looking up anyway.
That is what we supply the technology for.
Architectural lighting: color without a projector
Not every building needs a projection. Often light alone is enough to create a visual experience.
Weatherproof LED fixtures wash the facade in color, pick out columns, window lines or the roof edge, and shift the mood as the evening goes on. Setup and focusing are quick, the space required is small, and it works even where there is no room for a projector at a suitable distance.
Projection mapping: the facade is the screen
An image on your own facade. A world of color. Projection technology can place even complex images and structures on your building.
What matters for facade projection is a position for the projectors at sufficient distance. Beyond that, there is little to limit your imagination.
Video mapping: moving content instead of a still image
The difference from a still projection is simple: instead of a quiet image, an animation runs, usually as a loop across the whole evening.
There is plenty of room: an exhibit from your own collection, brand colors in motion, your own reading of this year's motto.
We are happy to handle the technical side – measuring the surface, defining projector positions, calculating the output needed, and bringing your material to the format of the facade.

FAQ
No. The official program is curated by the organizers and requested through them. You can have your own facade lit independently of that, as long as the equipment stands on your own property or you hold permission to use public space.
It depends on the scope. Colored facade lighting can be set up far more quickly than a mapping project with a newly produced animation. Send us your address and a photo, and we will tell you what is realistic in the time that is left.
Yes. For outdoor use we work with IP-rated equipment. Heavy rain and dense fog do cost contrast, though, particularly with projections. We plan for that rather than hope it stays dry.
