Senior Lighting Technician (m/f/d)

Location: The Cue Group Berlin
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Start: Immediately

Lighting design, team leadership, and safety — all in one role.

You plan the lighting for demanding productions, lead the lighting team on-site, and take responsibility for safe execution?

Then you're exactly who we're looking for.

The Cue Group brings together specialized companies from the events industry to deliver technical excellence at the highest level. In Berlin, we handle corporate events, conferences, galas, and brand experiences. For our technical team based in Berlin-Reinickendorf, we're looking for you as our Lighting Team Lead.

What you'll be doing

You'll take full ownership of lighting on our projects — both the technical side and the team. Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading lighting technology on projects: planning, setup, live support, and sign-off
  • Managing the lighting team, both permanent staff and freelancers, and planning their deployment
  • Creating lighting concepts, plans, and rigging plans in coordination with project management and clients
  • Programming and operating lighting consoles — grandMA as well as Avolites
  • Ensuring technically sound and safe execution, including compliance with relevant regulations and inspection requirements
  • Serving as the on-site technical point of contact for clients and other trades
  • Managing the lighting equipment inventory: condition, maintenance, upgrades, and investment recommendations
  • Onboarding and developing junior staff and apprentices

What you bring

  • Completed training as an Event Technology Specialist or equivalent qualification, ideally with a Master Craftsman certification in event technology
  • Several years of hands-on experience in live lighting, including proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Confident programming and operation of standard lighting consoles
  • Solid knowledge of electrical engineering, rigging, power supply, and relevant safety regulations
  • Strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to keep a team calm under pressure
  • Customer-focused and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Class B driver's license required; Class C1 a plus

Why The Cue Group?

Because working here is more than just another job:

  • A permanent, full-time role with real leadership responsibility and room to shape your work
  • Above-tariff pay plus benefits
  • Ambitious projects for strong brands
  • A real say in how our lighting inventory evolves — we welcome input, and decisions are explained
  • A technical team that has your back
  • Meaningful professional development: training, trade shows, new challenges
  • Growth opportunities within an expanding group, including across locations
  • Company pension scheme with employer contribution, plus corporate rates on private mobile contracts

This role is just one part of the bigger picture.
